NON-PROFIT RECESS ART


Recess is a non-profit that partners with artists to build a more equitable creative community.
By welcoming radical thinkers, their programs offer the space and resources to generate contemporary art.

The company’s visual identity came from the main characteristics of contemporary modern art which is often abstract, experimental, and process-based.  It also tends to make use of new media such as photography, video, and computer-generated imagery.

I chose circles due to its symbolism of unity and inifinity which is what the non-profit conveys through their vision of inclusiveness and the allowance for artists to create with no boundaries. The choice to work with primary colors also represent the endless possibilities within art and along with the use of the type Helvetica, my goal was to bring an aspect of modernity to the brand’s visuals.
