NON-PROFIT RECESS ART


Recess is a non-profit that partners with artists to build a more equitable creative community.
By welcoming radical thinkers, their programs offer the space and resources to generate contemporary art.

The company’s visual identity came from the main characteristics of contemporary modern art which is often abstract, experimental, and process-based.  It also tends to make use of new media such as photography, video, and computer-generated imagery.

Circles were chosen due to their symbolism of unity and infinity, reflecting the non-profit's vision of inclusiveness and the allowance for artists to create without boundaries. The choice to work with primary colors represents the endless possibilities within art. Along with the use of the type Helvetica, the goal was to bring an aspect of modernity to the brand’s visuals.
