AZUL LINHAS AÉREAS

Azul means “blue” in Portuguese, and even though the color is seen as an anchor throughout – along green and yellow which compose the 3 colors of Brazilian flag, – the idea was to stir away from the obvious “all blue” route.

REFERENCE

Tarsila do Amaral, who is considered one of the leading South American modernist artists, was reference for the re-brand of Azul Linhas Aéreas (Brazilian airline company).

Time was spent studying the shapes, shading and colors of Do Amaral’s most iconic pieces like “The Egg,” “A Cuca” and “Abaporu.”
